Re: Variable X-Men
Blake groaned, reaching up to run her fingers through her hair that was currently blocking her sight. She laid on her side, feeling bruised and cold. The air was dry, and a light illuminated around her. She sat up slowly, composing herself as the drugs wore off. Around her were tiled walls and floors, some parts tinted with dark red. A drain was centered in the floor of the cube room. Blake's neck was constricted by a thick collar with two LED lights. One light was illuminated red, the other was not lit.
She examined the collar, but it would not budge. It seemed to be controlled by a master-control button, and was tightly enclosed around her neck which constricted her breathing a little bit. Blake stood, approaching a wall covered in glowing orange squares. It gave off a faint buzzing sound. Further away from her, screams of torment echoed.
Blake gingerly reached toward the glowing orange lines. As soon as her fingertips grazed them, the lines sizzled at her touch. Her fingertips burned even though she touched them for a short time. Blake stepped back, looking around. Were the others here as well?
She called out, "Ellis? Eve? Anyone?" She said, but it came out more as a croak at first.

"I am here," Eve said, in the cell next to Blake. She stood in the center, hands folded behind her back as she stared blankly into the outside, apathetic to the screaming. "Are you injured?" Eve didn't care on an emotional level, so much as on a level of self-preservation. She as already weaving plans of escape within her enigmatic intelligence. While she could turn the odds in her favor as much as she pleased, there were always unknown factors, and having allies is always beneficial. "I plan to escape in a week or two, after gathering intelligence," she said, nonchalantly. Eve had worried about mics monitoring the cells, but in a facility like this, even if there were mics, there would be far too many of them to monitor to conceivably pose any risk in saying as one pleased.

Blake turned towards Eve's voice. She checked herself, "Just bruised a little bit." She answered. Blake felt relieved that someone else was here to keep her company. The screams were cut off quickly and it became silent. Blake came as close to the transparent lines as she could to observe her surroundings.

Ellis stirred, waking with mutters and a groan. His own scent immediately took him out of his tired state, causing him to gag profusely. "Jesus... What...?" He muttered, looking over his surroundings with squinted eyes. He had been placed in a room similar to Blake's, fitted with a matching collar.
He traced its surface, considering what its purpose might be. He took particular interest in the two lights, wondering what the two lights signified--Particularly, the lit, red LED. He attempted to phase, though before he could shift, a strong electric shock attacked his neck, met with a pained scream.
He tried again, met with the same result--Which he took as a sign to give up.

Re: Variable X-Men
Eve's cells had by this point worked their way into the collar. She was unimpressed with the technology. It was having issues differentiating her abilities from normal life processes, which she didn't complain about, though she still received a sizable electric shock every now and then, but once she made it to the circuitry, maybe she could figure a way out of it.

The jet arrived moments later, depositing the team once it had landed. Artemis was the first to step off, his neutral expression hardly changing. "Regroup in the meeting room." He called, making his way out of the hangar.

Re: Variable X-Men
Looking down as Alex walked by her, Lara walked into the jet expecting to see Blake doing something that would slow her from disembarking. Lara squinted and frowned as she noticed Blake was not present. She walked back off the jet and tried to pick her out among the other xmen. She stood frozen as she noticed that both Blake and Ellis were missing, along with someone else, though who she couldn't quite put her finger on. She brushed some red hair out her face as she entered an elevator back up to the ground floor of the mansion.
Something had happened. She wasn't allowed in the meeting rooms anymore, so she would have to suffice with assumptions and hypothesis.

Eve sat in her cell, ignoring the bed in the corner. She didn't need it. She wondered when they would come for her.
